Counselor
Job Description
Restoring Hope New England is seeking one or more counselors to join us in providing compassionate Christ-centered care to individuals and families, in accord with the biblical counseling model as taught by CCEF. We are looking for insightful counselors who love engaging deeply in the lives of others and are at ease connecting with a variety of people. We value flexibility, teamwork, and enthusiasm for our mission to “shepherd hearts and strengthen churches by providing Christ-centered counseling, training, and partnerships to individuals, families, and churches throughout New England.”
Our counselors benefit from a supportive environment, receiving administrative support, ongoing group supervision and professional development in counseling, as well as writing and teaching opportunities if desired. Schedule and number of hours are negotiable.
Compensation commensurate with experience.
Qualifications
Applicants for this position should have completed the following or their equivalents:
- Biblical counseling training including the following CCEF courses:
- Dynamics of Biblical Change
- Helping Relationships
- Applied Theology of the Person (formerly Human Personality)
- Counseling in the Local Church
- Scripture for Life & Ministry (formerly Biblical Interpretation)
- Everyday Problems in Counseling (formerly Counseling Problems & Procedures)
- Marriage Counseling
- Counseling and Physiology
- Theology and Secular Psychology
- Counseling Observation
- Theological training: Master’s degree in biblical counseling, theology, biblical studies.
- Counseling experience of at least one year
Applicant must have demonstrated giftedness in applying the CCEF model of biblical counseling. Review of the candidate’s recorded counseling (formal or informal) will be requested.
Potential for state mental health licensure is helpful but not required.
