Sarah Banks is an adjunct counselor at Restoring Hope New England. After completing coursework through the CCEF School of Biblical Counseling, she began pursuing a Master of Arts in Counseling from Westminster Theological Seminary. Sarah has experienced the Lord’s gentle care for her during difficult times. Her heart is to come alongside fellow strugglers, sharing the love of Christ with them and offering wise and compassionate support. Sarah is a Certified Christian Trauma Care Provider (Level 1) through the Christian Trauma Healing Network. When she’s not working, you can find her reading books with her daughter, writing songs, running trails, or tending to a growing collection of plants.
Jill Butler loves Jesus and loves watching him work in majestic ways in people’s stories. She graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Social Work and a Master’s degree in counseling from Westminster Seminary. She has worked for over 20 years in ministry, walking with both believers and unbelievers as they seek to make sense of who God is and who he says they are in the midst of their stories. Jill has a breadth of clinical experience as well, which she values for its helpfulness in further understanding the struggle it is to be human. The Word of God has and continues to shape Jill’s life and worldview as her source of truth and comfort, both personally and in her counseling relationships. Jill’s experience also includes working with refugees who are survivors of torture, churches, marriages, and child welfare. She enjoys spending her time traveling, cooking for dear friends, reading books and anything on the water.
Andy Engert is a counselor and the Executive Director at Restoring Hope New England. He received his Master of Arts in counseling from Asbury Theological Seminary and has completed numerous CCEF School of Biblical Counseling certificate courses in preparation for becoming a biblical counselor. Prior to joining the team, Andy worked in the professional counseling field and is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC) in the state of Vermont. He has a passion for supporting the church in New England and for helping people find real help in the Lord as they face the significant challenges of life. Andy and his wife, Christine, have three sons, and he also serves as the part-time worship pastor at his church. Andy loves music, playing soccer, and spending time with his family.
Alasdair is a counselor (M. Div. counseling emphasis from Westminster Theological Seminary, 2009), author (Untangling Emotions, Crossway), and international speaker. He is fascinated by the power God has given our words and stories to shape and mature us in community. Alasdair and his wife live in New Hampshire where their greatest joy is raising their three children and where they are blessed to be part of a vibrant church, to have deep friendships, and to walk out every morning into the natural splendor of northern New England. Alasdair enjoys fiction, running, ultimate frisbee, and both the creation and consumption of good food and good music.
Emily Heuer completed her Masters in Counseling at Westminster Theological Seminary and is a member of the Association of Certified Biblical Counselors. Her experience includes working in youth ministry, mentoring middle and high school age girls, and counseling in the local church. She loves coming alongside people wherever they are and reminding them of God’s great love for them. In her spare time Emily enjoys quilting, reading, coffee, and spending time with family and friends. Emily counsels via telehealth only.
Annette Horne is a counselor and the Director of Development and Partnerships at Restoring Hope New England. She was born and raised in Germany, where she completed her graduate degree in Theology and acquired an MBA. She pursued a 20-year-long career in Higher Education, developing international corporate and academic partnerships. After permanently relocating to the Upper Valley in 2015, she began taking counseling classes at CCEF and working for a local church. She completed her internship at CCEF New England in 2023 and became a full-time staff member. She is passionate about connecting people, growing the community of believers, and coming alongside to seek God’s presence in day-to-day life together.
Lara Mather received a Master of Arts degree in Counseling from Westminster Theological Seminary. She has been an online instructor for CCEF’s School of Biblical Counseling and continues to pursue ongoing training in the areas of trauma and care for those who have experienced abuse or oppression. In the counseling room, she prayerfully comes alongside, seeking to know people well and looking for the ways God is at work to bring healing from the past, hope for the future, and wisdom for the present day. Lara and her husband, Jonathan, have seven children spanning in ages from young adulthood to middle school. She is a lifelong New Englander, growing up in mid-coast Maine and now living in the hills of rural New Hampshire. She loves the varied landscapes, seasons, and the ever-changing rhythms of life in the northeast.
Grace Sunderland received a Bachelor of Arts in Behavioral Health with a Counseling Emphasis from Arizona Christian University, and has completed two certificate programs from the CCEF School of Biblical Counseling. Grace has experience counseling women at her local pregnancy resource center and hopes to be involved in starting up a counseling ministry at her local church. Grace has been comforted by sisters in Christ who showed her the love of Jesus during difficult times. She has a passion to bring this kind of support and comfort to others. Grace’s hobbies include reading and calligraphy lettering, and she is beginning to get the hang of pickleball. More than anything, she enjoys spending time with family and friends.
Camille Thomas is currently completing her Master of Arts in Counseling from Westminster Theological Seminary. She holds certificates in Foundations of Biblical Counseling, Topics in Biblical Counseling, and Counseling Skills and Practice earned from CCEF. Through her own story, she has experienced the ways that God can profoundly use a listening ear and one-on-one conversations to bring comfort, wisdom, and healing to a person’s life. Camille resides in Middle Tennessee with her husband Patrick and their little dog, Poco. She enjoys exploring new places, reading and writing, antiquing, and spending time with family (including 12 nieces and nephews!).
Kaylin Vincz received a Bachelor of Arts in Biblical Counseling from Crossroads Bible College and a Master of Arts in Counseling from Westminster Theological Seminary. Her experience is with individuals and couples as well as leading counseling groups. Kaylin empathetically walks with you on your journey through counseling while applying a biblical perspective to the challenges of life. She believes that Jesus’ story, mapped onto ours, has the power to change the way we view the world and that his presence gives the strength needed to face the challenges ahead. Kaylin believes relationships are the ministers of these realities and provides a safe, empathetic relationship within counseling and seeks to mend and strengthen other interpersonal relationships. In her spare time, Kaylin likes to spend time outdoors with her husband and three children as well as garden, snowboard, hike, read, and drink coffee.
Dori Willeman received her Master of Arts in Counseling from Westminster Theological Seminary. She, alongside her husband, Don, moved to New England in 1999 to plant a local church where she has served there as a leader in children’s and women’s ministry. In addition, she has worked in campus ministry teaching and discipling college students. She has a passion for helping people understand biblical truth and apply it to their lives that they might experience peace and joy in Jesus Christ.
Lauren Groves is the Chief Operating Officer at Restoring Hope New England. Lauren grew up in Massachusetts, graduated from Dartmouth College, and has worked in campus ministry and executive administration. She has a passion for turning great ideas into reality. Lauren works part-time for her church and volunteers with CASA of New Hampshire. Lauren and her husband are parents to three great kids, who will tell you she loves adventures, sunshine, and talking with friends. Contact Lauren.
Cathy Sage is the Office Manager at Restoring Hope New England. She recently moved to Vermont with her husband Andrew, and her two dogs Jetta and Vita. She has two grown children, a wonderful son-in-law, and two beautiful grandsons. She loves reading, knitting, maple lattes, the ocean, sunrises, and beautiful flowers. Cathy was a dental hygienist for almost 30 years and is currently taking counseling classes through CCEF. She recently completed abuse advocacy training through Called to Peace Ministries and hopes to serve domestic abuse victims as the Lord leads her. Her greatest desire is to learn and grow as a disciple of Jesus and to be a reflection of him in her love and care for others. Contact Cathy.
