Breakout 1: The Unwanted Prerequisites to Hope – How Romans 5:3-5 helps us endure | Jill Butler
If we’re honest, we often don’t want to need hope because it means that something is broken. Hope is often the carrot held out as the response to disappointment. Together, we’ll consider the work it takes to hope and how the Lord gives us the ability to endure life’s disappointments. We’ll also discuss how to do this well with others based on the framework we see in Romans.
Breakout 2: Surrender: Letting Go without Losing Hope | Grace Sunderland
Many of us have been told to “just let it go”—only to feel discouraged, stuck, or even hopeless. In this talk, we’ll reframe surrender as something far more life-giving: not letting go of hope, but letting go in hope. Through biblical examples and practical steps, we’ll explore the process of actively and expectantly entrusting our desires to God. As we journey into uncertain territory, we encounter the steady character of God and experience His sustaining and transforming work in our lives.
Breakout 3: Killing love softly: how contempt steals hope in marriage | Kaylin Vincz
Most couples don’t set out to wound each other. Yet over time, disappointment, shame, and unmet longings can quietly give rise to something far more destructive than conflict—contempt. In this talk, we’ll explore how contempt becomes a protective armor in marriage, why it so easily takes root in our deeper stories, and how it slowly erodes emotional safety and intimacy. More importantly, we’ll discover how God invites couples into a different path—one where curiosity replaces judgment, stories are honored, and the gospel restores hope where love has grown weary.
Breakout 4: Finding Rest for the Weary: Hope for the tired heart, strength for the weary soul | Dori Willeman
Many who serve others—whether in ministry, counseling, or everyday life—know what it feels like to be deeply tired or “burned out.” The weariness is not only physical; it can also be emotional and spiritual, leaving people feeling overwhelmed and spent. This session explores how Scripture speaks to the reality of exhaustion and points us to the deeper rest God promises His people. Together we will consider how true rest is ultimately rooted in the hope we have in the Lord—a hope that renews the weary and sustains those who faithfully care for others.
